PTPTN Defaulters Will Be Linked With CCRIS (Bad Credit List) Soon

KUALA LUMPUR: Graduates who have not repaid their higher education loans with the National Higher Education Corporation (PTPTN) will be listed on Bank Negara’s Central Credit Reference Information System (CCRIS) soon said by the Second Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh.

According to Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh, there have been 400 000 graduates who have been defaulting payment. The move was necessary to introduce this new system.

During a press conference after attending PTPTN’s Aidilfitri open house, he said that the most important thing that the graduate should have in mind after borrowing a loan is to pay them back. If they (students) have reasons on not paying back the loan, we would discuss with them and reschedule the payments.

He also brushed aside concerns regarding the move which might hinder graduates from having their personal credit cards or keeping loan applications from being approved. – The Sun
