PETALING JAYA: British American Tobacco Malaysia (BAT) has announced an increase in price of all its cigarette brands. There are no news of other cigarette brands to follow this price hike yet.

As of today, a pack of BAT’s cigarettes will go up by RM1. According to the Managing Director of BAT Malaysia, Stefano Clini, the increase was necessary to cover operating cost and production cost. He also added that the company has suffered losses caused by illegal trade cigarettes and the stiff tobacco competition.
