19 year old Teenage girl in India burned to death because of wanting love marriage

Four days ago an Indian teenage girl age 19 years old was burnt to death by the village elders for wanting a love marriage.

The victim as known as Anju Yadav from Karahkol a village in Deoria was in love with a boy name Ranjit Yadav who is 21 years of age. The village council and also the boy’s father Jai Hind Yadav, 52 did not approve of the marriage.

The girl’s mother pleaded with the village council to allow her daughter to marry the boy from the the same village with the same caste.

While the mother was pleading the village council to allow the marriage to happen, village elders set her house on fire while Anju was inside the house

According to the head of Ikauna Police Station, ‘‘Jai Hind along with three other villagers rushed to the girl’s house and doused her with inflammable liquid and set her alight while her mother was at the council meeting. We have arrested two members of the group while two are still on the run.’

Anju was rushed to the hospital but she died on the way as she suffered 85% burn

She tried to safe herself as the four men broke into her house. She suffered from fractures in her arms and legs while trying to jump of the second floor.

Some of the other villages came to her aid as they poured water on her but it was too late

Police says that they are still looking for Jai Hind, the father of the boy as the rest of the elders were caught.
