Bad news boys and girls, the age limit for purchasing alcoholic drinks in Malaysia will be raised from 18 to 21 starting from Dec 1, 2017.

According to The Star, ruling will take effect on Dec 1, 2017, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S Subramaniam.

All premises offering alcoholic drinks are required to display a notice to warn customers on the adverse effect of consuming liquor as well (because we babies – this is just a joke by the way… the babies part…).

“The amendment is in line with the global strategy to reduce the harmful use of alcohol signed by all health ministers to reduce the availability of alcoholic beverage in the market,” said the Health Minister

This move is also aimed to stop teenagers and students from buying and consuming alcohol.
