A woman who made headlines in Malaysia four days for stripping off her clothes in public to avoid paying for a meal worth around RM18 in Petaling Street is actually a Malaysian model.
The woman went to dine at the restaurant with a man around 3pm on Thursday and she tried leaving the restaurant without paying.
“When the restaurant operator tried to stop her, she denied having eaten there. However, she was shown a CCTV recording of her eating in the restaurant, so she started stripping to avoid paying,” said Wong, who runs a jewellery stall beside the restaurant.
In another news site, she has been revealed to actually be a Malaysian model by the name of Shanna Avril. Her Facebook page states that she is from Queensland, Australia. Shanna allegedly went to Kuala Lumpur to work as a nurse in 2012. She was also in a beauty contest on Malaysian magazine Dewi Remaja in 2005. She also participated in many Malaysian beauty contents and also had appeared on local TV shows.
She was also tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the police on Sunday. “A urine test was conducted on the suspect who was detained following a report of public indecency under Section 509 of the Penal Code, and her urine tested positive for methamphetamine,” said Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Zainol Samah.
