Spotify is mainly used to stream musics and video ads are probably the last thing users will expect from it. Unfortunately, they begin rolling it out to increase the companies revenue.
But the good news here is that this new video ads will only be affected for those who are using the free version. On top of that, you don’t need to watch it if you don’t want to as it comes as an option, however, if you choose to watch the advertisement then you will be rewarded with blocks of uninterrupted listening time.
According to Spotify’s chief business officer, Jeff Levick, the team will launch this new system only for the mobile app at the moment as their mobile users has the fastest growing traffic.
