Man killed in a fight during Thaipusam chariot procession


A 35 year old man was killed and his younger brother badly injured in a fight that took place early this Sunday after  the Thaipusam chariot procession.

The victim was identified as S. Sivakumaran, 35, from Sungai Tukang while his injured brother, Nadarajan is in his 20’s.

Kuala Muda OCPD ACP Khalil Ariffin said that the two men were involved in a fight between two groups of people at two different spots along Jalan Pasar early this Sunday after they attended the Thaipusam chariot procession on Saturday night.


In the incident, a total of seven other people were injured.

Police had arrested six men, aged in their 20’s to 30’s and had remanded them until Jan 25 to assist in the investigations.
