About 2.03 million Honda vehicles worldwide are currently being recalled as the passenger airbags are faulty.
The local models that are facing this issue are the 2003 Honda Accord, 2003 Honda City, 2001 – 2003 Honda Stream and lastly, the 2002 – 2003 Honda Jazz. This is caused by the Japanese automotive parts manufacturer, Takata Corp, whereby the airbags are not manufactured perfectly. Based on sources, those faulty airbags may rupture causing it to not deploy properly during an accident.
According to Honda Malaysia, there are no complains by owners of those particular models mentioned above. They also added that they will contact owners of the models affected individually to replace the inflator. All charges will be bared by the Japanese automaker themselves.
Based on another report, Takata Corp has also been supplying faulty airbags to Nissan, Toyota, Mazda and BMW. These automakers are also recalling cars that are affected around the world, however, there are no information provided at the moment for the Msian models that are affected.
