Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin is set to marry Singapore-based Elaine Andriejanssen in France next month and not former Miss Singapore Universe Rachel Kum despite recently having an engagement party with his Indonesian Chinese fiancée Elaine Andriejanssen.
The Singapore-based billionaire is due to marry his Indonesian Chinese fiancée Elaine Andriejanssen. The pair held an engagement party at Mulia Resort Bali over a month ago, where John Legend was invited to perform.
It was reported that Saverin would spending millions to rent out all 74 rooms and suites at the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat Four Seasons on the French Riviera for the big day.
However, a check on Mr Saverin’s Facebook page showed that he got engaged to Ms Andriejanssen on Mar 27, 2014. “She said Yes!!! I am engaged to the love of my life. Excited for a life full of adventure, happiness and health,” he wrote. Ms Andriejanssen works in the finance industry, and is based in Singapore.
Saverin, who was born in Brazil and emigrated to the United States in 1993 with his family, has never returned to the US since moving to Singapore in 2009.
Mr Saverin’s net worth is estimated at about US$4.2 billion according to a 2014 Forbes Singapore rich list.
Kum meanwhile has her own cosmetics company, Rachel K Cosmetics, which Saverin is not an investor in despite previously published reports.
And while Kum did not win the 2009 Miss Universe title, she did walk away with awards for Miss Body Beautiful and Miss Personality.
Kum, 30, actually worked at a hedge fund before competing in Miss Universe, and holds a finance degree from the University of Western Australia.
