Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz says that the Chinese are the main cause of the May 13 riots. He added that Tanda Putera is a well researched film and depicts what really happen on May 13. – August 31st 2013.
Nazri then continues saying these are facts, and we cannot change facts. However, Nazri then say not the Chinese community are to be blamed, but just the few individuals were to be blame for the violence. Nazri has watched the film and say it is a well researched film and is curious why the present generation of Chinese is angry over this film.
Nazri then asked “This happened then. Why should the present generations of Chinese be troubled by it now?”. –source
However, the movie has poor ticket sales for two days. The film begins screening in Penang Cinemas today.
Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has advise the cinema not to screen this movie as it is full of lies. But for those cinemas who screens the movie, no action will be taken.
On the other hand, Opposition leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim disagree with Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s action. Answar disagree which lim guang Eng in only advising, but not banning the screening of Tanda Putera.
However, Anwar does agree with Lim statement which said the film was made to help Barisan Nasional.
“What is regretful is that the film promotes Barisan Nasional propaganda and even the director herself, Datin Paduka Shuhaimi Baba, admitted that the film is a work of fiction.”.
Anwar then added, it is not nice to promote it like a communist style propaganda.
