Cheaper flights for Public University students

AirAsia today signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with 20 local public universities extending access to its “Waran Perjalanan Udara Awam” (WPUA) service which originally caters only to civil servants.
Some of the benefits enjoyed under the warrant such as cheaper flights, flexible bookings and flight change (no flight transfer cost incurred for maximum of two flight changes), complimentary baggage allocation up to 40kg, in-flight meals and seat selection; as well as waived service counter fees.
Students who use this programme would have to arrange their intended trips with specially appointed travel agents that handle the booking and facilitation of the flight tickets.
The 20 universities invovled are Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Universiti Islam Antarabangasa Malaysia (UIAM), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) and Univesiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM).
