Unfortunately only one of us (FM writers) love sushi!.
Anyway, it is said that Sushi diet which is high in omega-3 fatty acid will extend our lives. Average life span of both Japanese man and woman have the longest compared to others.
Here are some main ingredients which benefits us if we were to go eat sushi:
Japanese loves fish. White fish such as sea bass and red snapper have less then 100 calories per 100g. As for mackerel, eel, tuna and toro, they have less then 200 calories per 100g.
Fish are basically high in omega-3 which is good for our heart. It helps us to prevent heart disease, stroke, and arthritis.
We, Asian can’t live without rice. Rice is a great source of carbohydrates and also protein. Plus it is gluten-free.
Rice Vinegar alone has a lot of benefits such as antibacterial properties. It aids in our digestion and reduce the risk of high blood pressure.
It is also a natural antiseptic and it helps in digestion too. Besides that is also boost our immune system and helps the body in fighting flu.
Soy sauce ingredient consist of salt,wheat, yeast and most importantly, Soybeans.
Soybeans are naturally high in protein, magnesium, potassium and iron. Soy products contain phytoestrogens, which have been successfully to treat problems caused by menopause.
Seaweed is one of the foundation of sushi!. It is highly nutritious. It contains protein, vitamin A, B1, B2, B6, niacin and C. It also helps to prevent cholesterol from clogging up our arteries.
What is sushi without wasabi?. Wasabi is rich in vitamin C, wasabi also helps in the production of our saliva and also aids in digestion.
There are also some food on the sushi menu which will just reverse all this benefits. Do go mildly on the deep fried stuff, such as tempura or soft shell crab,
