A total of 607 personnel have been fired from the police force since year 2013, Bukit Aman’s Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (JIPS) director Comm Datuk Jalaluddin Abdul Rahman told The Star Online.
On top of that number, 240 policemen have also reportedly been suspended.
Comm Jalaluddin told the news portal that the bad cops were given the boot for offences such as shirking their duties, misconduct and also corruption.
Out of the 607 personnel, 284 of them were reportedly let go under Section 4(2)(g) of the Public Officers (Conduct and Discipline) for shirking their duties.
“This year, we fired 25 personnel,” Comm Jalaluddin told the news portal, adding that others were also kicked out for defying orders.
He also told The Star Online that a total 38 senior officers were being probed while 301 others were being investigated for drug-related offences, crime, corruption and misconduct.
Between 2013 and last month, 257 policemen have reportedly been convicted.
No matter what, bad employees will get fired or sacked, and this rule applies for policemen as well.
