6 Great Places In Klang Valley For A Quick And Relaxing Getaway


A ‘staycation’ is according to Google, “a vacation spent in one’s home country rather than abroad, or one spent at home and involving day trips to local attractions”.

Considering the rather depressing economy we’re facing and how expensive things have become, a ‘staycation’ is the perfect solution when you’re in need of a little breather.

Here are 6 places that you wouldn’t believe exist so close to our concrete jungle of a city.

1. Templer Park Rainforest Retreat

Located only 25 minutes away from KL, this retreat is located in Kanching Rainforest Reserve. The two-story house consists of four bedrooms that can fit 16 people, an infinity pool, jet spa and a viewing deck overlooking the gorgeous Bukit Takun.

Rates per night for first 4 guests: Sun-Thu, RM700; Fri-Sat, RM1200.

2. Uluhati

A farm set amid the hills of Hulu Langat and located about an hour drive from KL, Uluhati allows you to enjoy the wilderness without all the fuss. You can pitch a tent, pluck fruits, climb a mountain, go river rafting and even explore on horseback.


Rates are RM150 per room per night; tents, RM30 per pax.

3. Taman Sari

A B&B experience for those looking for a breath of fresh air and breathtaking view, Taman Sari is only 45 minutes away from the city.


Rates range from RM350-550 for 2 to 4 people.

4. Bamboo Village

The perfect place for a quiet retreat from the hustle bustle of life, the Bamboo Village has a selection of bungalow, cottage, dorms, and event tents complete with standard hotel amenities and facilities such as WiFi, refrigerator, shower, complimentary bottled water, and more.


Rates range from RM120 to RM390 depending on type of room and amount of people. You can also rent a tent for RM15. They also have a special package for people who would like to work and stay there.

5. Aman Dusun Orchard & Farm Retreat

A unique retreat that sits sits on a 4-acre property (part of a bigger and separate 12-acre farm), this is one stay that will give an inside view of an orchard. This is a good place to go with families as it will give an opportunity to impart good values on how to care for the environment to our young children.


Rates are RM950 per night for maximum 7 to 11 people depending on type of accommodation.

6. The Dusun

From a Durian orchard into the nature resort it is now, this eco-friendly place is located only 1 hour and 15 minutes south of KL. Activities held here are designed to raise awareness of Malaysia’s beautiful natural heritage and support local traditions, communities and NGOs.


Rates range from RM400 to RM1100 depending on various factors.
