CT scan reveals that a 1,000 year old Buddha statue reveals to be a mummified monk inside. It looks like a traditional Buddha statue dating back to the 11th or 12th and was recently revealed that there is a mummified monk inside.
The CT scan was carried out by the Netherlands based Drents Museum at the Meander Medical Centre in Amersfoort shows that the mummified monk was of a Buddhist master known as Liuquan of the Chinese Meditation School.
Prior before the investigation, it was known that the remains of a person is inside the Buddha statue but another starling discovery was made during the scan that the organs were actually removed before the person was mummified. The researches discovered rolles of papers scraps covered in Chinese writing was used to mummify the body.
