1. Microwave Chocolate Chip Cookie

  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 1 Tablespoon Granulated White Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon of firmly packed Dark Brown Sugar
  • 3 Drops of Vanilla Extract
  • Small Pinch of Kosher Salt
  • 1 Egg Yolk (discard the egg white or save for different recipe)
  • Scant ¼ of All Purpose Flour (slightly less than ¼ of a cup)
  • 2 heaping tablespoons of Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips

  • Start by melting your butter in the microwave. Butter should just be melted, not boiling.
  • Add sugars, vanilla and salt. Stir to combine.
  • Separate your egg and add the yolk only to your cup. Stir to combine.
  • Add flour, then stir again. Measure a scant, slightly less than full, ¼ cup of all-purpose flour.
  • Add the chocolate chips, and give a final stir. Now your mixture will look like cookie dough.
  • Cook in microwave 40-60 seconds, start checking for doneness at 40 seconds. Mine takes 50 seconds. Do not cook past one minute, just like a regular cookie, this will continue cooking as it cools. If the cookie is dry or cake like, try less time.
  • Serve warm.

2. Bacon! (Non-Halal)

  • Bacon

  • First, get a microwavable plate and lay some paper towel across it. 2-3 regular size sheets or about 4 mini sheets.
  • Add regular uncooked bacon. The neat thing about this method is that you can easily do just a few strips and then put the rest back into a plastic container in the fridge for the next day. You don’t have to feel like since you’ve got everything out, that you have to make the whole package.
  • Fold the paper towel back over itself, enclosing the bacon.
  • Pop it in the microwave for about 2 minutes per slice. So that’s 4 minutes for 2 slices.

3. Nutella Mug Cake

  • 4 tablespoons of sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • 4 tablespoons of self-rising flour
  • 3 tablespoons of milk
  • 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • Nutella
  • 1 Egg

  • Put all of the ingredients together in a coffee cup
  • Whisk with a fork until smooth
  • Pop it in a microwave for 1.5 minutes
  • And you are set! You can add some whipped cream if you are into it.

4. Roasted Garlic

  • 1 or more heads raw garlic
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

  • Microwave and oven-safe dish, such as a glass container
  • Microwave-safe lid, such as a ceramic saucer

  • Cut the top off each head of garlic, exposing the cloves within.
  • Place the garlic heads in the baking dish and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper.
  • Pour in about 1 1/2 tablespoons water for each head of garlic. (Option: You can also use white wine, for a winey-infused garlic.)
  • Cover the dish with a microwave-safe lid.
  • Microwave on 50% power in periods of 3 minutes.
  • Check the garlic after each 3-minute period, poking it with a fork to see how tender the garlic cloves are. (Be careful when removing the lid, as hot steam will billow out.)
  • Continue microwaving. After 6 minutes have elapsed, cook in increments of 1 minute each, until the garlic is very soft and can be pierced easily with a fork. Squeeze garlic out of the cloves and use in a recipe. Or turbo-boost your garlic by giving it a quick roast!
  • Heat the oven to 450°F. Wrap the steamed garlic head in a large piece of foil and put in the baking dish. (Pour out any remaining water first.)
  • Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until the garlic has begun to color.

pancake jar-compressed

All you do is mix up some Bisquick in the bottom of a mason jar and microwave it. Make sure that you only fill it to 1/3 of the jar so that it has room to rise. In a pint jar, it took 90 seconds to cook. Every microwave may be a little different so just watch it the first time around.

When its done, use a butter knife to test that it is cooked through. *Dip it all the way to the bottom and if it comes off clean, its done.

Then, put butter and syrup on top and it will sink down the  hole made by testing it.

  • Splash of milk

  • In a microwave safe {big} mug or bowl (make sure it is a big one or it will boil over), put 1/3 cup whole grain elbow macaroni and 1/3 cup + 1/4 cup water (If you have a stronger microwave, you may need more water… just play with it adding a couple extra Tbs at a time). Microwave for 6 minutes, stirring at 4 minutes, 2 minutes, and 1 minute.
  • The pasta should be cooked and there will be a tiny bit of thick pasta water in the bottom. Leave this water.
  • Add a heaping 1/3 cup shredded Cheddar Jack cheese (pictured above). Return to the microwave for 30 to 45 seconds to melt the cheese.
